The goals of the Piedmont Heights Civic Association are to maintain a livable and desirable community. The PHCA provides a means for the expression of ideas, acts as a liaison between the community and the government, and works to promote friendliness and cooperation among neighbors.

The PHCA was founded in the fall of 1956 after the construction of the Northeast Expressway (I-85) Piedmont Heights began to experience encroaching commercial development, rezoning, and other problems related to Atlanta’s growth. To combat these problems, a group of homeowners met at Rock Spring Presbyterian Church to form a civic organization to protect the vitality and beauty of our neighborhood as a residential area. At the first meeting on October 12, 1956, a Board of Directors was elected and a chairman was selected. The “Piedmont Heights Civic Club”, as it was then called, was born. Six years later, a Charter of Corporation was granted by the Fulton County Superior Court.
